BARCELONA PART XII 1950 to 1966

THE END

THE DARK SIDE OF BARCELONA DURING W.W. 2

WARNING: I deleted the most graphic photos save one I felt is " A picture that is worth a thousand words."

The woman who assembled the photo exhibit  depicting the nazi occupation  in Barcelona  during world war two
To understand the impacted the exhibit had on me click on this to enlarge.  I walked these same steps as this pack of animals did over 70 years ago. It was the first photo in the exhibition and it went downhill from there.

Montserrat (Catalan pronunciation: [munsəˈrat]) is a multi-peaked rocky range located near the city of Barcelona, in CataloniaSpain. It is part of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range. The main peaks are Sant Jeroni (1,236 m), Montgrós (1,120 m) and Miranda de les Agulles (903 m).[1]
It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbeySanta Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some [2] with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.
"Montserrat" literally means "saw (serrated, like the common handsaw) mountain" in Catalan. It describes its peculiar aspect with multitude of rock formations which are visible from a great distance. The mountain is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock. Montserrat is Spain's first National Park
All photos of paintings are located in the Abby's art collection
In 1493, Christopher Columbus named the Caribbean island of Montserrat Santa Maria de Montserrate, after the Virgin of Montserrat.[3

BARCELONA PART IX

It's not an easy task picking a favorite eatery..  but my vote is PLA

Having a vegan restaurant and juice bar across the street from our apartment was a gift. It's TERESA'S to the left of Patty. This was taken from our balcony.

Pick any street or back alley and you'll find a great tapas bar or outdoor  eatery.
