BECOMING THE 51st STATE

 61% or 800,000 Puerto Ricans voted for statehood to become the 51st state in the November elections.

Currently residents pay no federal income tax.
Business pays no taxes.
All that will disappear if Puerto Rico becomes a state injecting an extra 20 billion into it's economy.

Officially called the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
25% speak fluent English ( most speak some )
It has the same structure as the U.S. government and runs much like a state
Head of state: The president of the United States
Indigenous people: Taino Indians (as seen in statues when entering the town of Aguada)
Discovered by Cristoforo Colombo November 19, 1493
United States took control from Spain in 1898 becoming a U.S. territory
Size: 110 miles X 36 miles located 1000 miles from Miami, Florida
58% equaling 3.9 million ( half the population ), in a mass exodus, moved to the United States.
