Laird's pad overlooking Jaws. Entire bottom floor is a workout room. Behind the house is a 6 car garage housing the jet ski's, boards, cars and trucks. Not bad for a surf dude! OH BOY!
YAQUINA HEAD LIGHTHOUSE, north side, May, 2011 UPDATE OF YESTERDAY: 3 to 5 pm, Yaquina Head. solid 6 to 8, 1 to 3 feet O.H. and a few plus waves in the sets. 72 degrees with no wind. glass! Felt good getting some bombs w/ a lot of juice. Couple of feet O.H. with good conditions. 2 to 4 sessions a week + work = 8 lbs. lighter.

Tackle Buster Reef beach break YES, There are more women surfing in Oregon than I've seen anywhere else but what's grabbing my attention is how they are getting there. iphone photos: Otter Rock There's thick skin and then............. THERE IS THICK SKIN! This gal has the surf mobile to beat all the rest. She carries a kite board, wind surfer, 2 S.U.P's (one long and one short) 2 longboards and 1 short and travels from Baja to British Columbia and rides them all.
RICO'S REPORT:Sunday was 3 to 4 feet overhead with epic conditions. Surfed in glassy sizable waves Sunday late afternoon. A lot of juice. Surface conditions were like oil with perfectly formed waves. Water was warm @ 60 degrees. No hood, no gloves. Warmer than the 2 winter's spent at Emma Wood. Back to Nye Beach and Cafe Mundo. located half a block from Cafe Mundo's is this oceanfront hotel. Jimmy Buffet sitting @ 3 o'clock. A few blogs back I mentioned that you can still see the horizon line @ 10:15 pm.
Bruce Reynolds must have been here! The Surfinista vibe is found within Cafe Mundo. TABLETOP ART. The Surf Gallery located directly across the street. We were both feeling a little Bruce Reynolds vibe swirling through Cafe Mundo....... and this confirmed it! The stage. Downstairs seating ... coffee and reading area. 2nd floor dining. Hanging above our table was this classic. Patty invisions Diane coming up the stairs with lunch. Upstairs bar and dining. The lavender box next to the bartender is an old fashioned dumb waiter bringing up our lunch. Patio dining. Bathroom Art. I knocked on the stall door and asked " Hey Bruce, you in there?" I had to do a double take while visiting the men's room. and you might as well too! Kept looking for wall graffiti that said B.R. was here. Window dressing NYE BEACH main street.
