THE PAST WEEK AT EMMA WOOD

Brunch at the Cliff House with Oil Piers / Little Rincon.

Rico's morning report for Sunday, 2 28 010
Wave height: D.O. to 15 ft.
Condtions: sunny and slight offshores
It's too big to get a photo from sea level. I'll have to take some from the overpass.

Mi compadres minus Guido!

ck. the wave in foreground

The result of this mornings wave action. I was in the kiosk when a wall of white water hit the window and surrounded the structure. Ever see that lighthouse poster with the lighthouse keeper standing in the doorway entrance with a huge wave engulfing the lighthouse ? Always wanted to be that guy.

What a winter!!!
Rico hadn't shown his mug for awhile. "Gee Pop, I never had to get pulled along with this cord in Puerto Rico." Yeah..well..You didn't get 3 squares a day and a temperpedic bed to sleep on either.
I've had this shot of C Street in my photo library for a couple months.

SANTA BARBARA NIGHTLIFE PART 2

cANNoT gEt eNOuGH oF tHE wiLdCaT LoUNGe..
JOE'S CAFE was a Santa Barbara staple and had been open for decades when I lived there in the early to mid seventies. It's still going strong and has added the reputation of being a late night place to meet old and new friends and have a few cocktails.
Patty, Nancy and I are headed back to S.B for more film festival festivities tonight!
The Palace is a sure bet if your looking for home cooked music from jazz to bluegrass to jug band style.

I had some fun waves Monday early afternoon. Conditions were as good as it gets. I had the reef to myself. A lifeguard was having a liquid lunch and he was paddling in as I paddled out. Being on REEF SECURITY PATROL ...especially on rotation like this is just a job but somebody has to do it!
