PART 2

I purposely snapped these in 3 seperate locations duplicating the same angle, with the exception of the 1st pic. Indialantic, my home break a block from our house and Cocoa Beach.

Really a nice one week run of swell, which today is still producing nice 2 to 4 ft at least in southern Brevard County.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

Three of my hero's. Brock and Bruce Reynolds and Ricobama. Just keep in mind the title of this blog when viewing the other pics. Maybe I should have titled it SURFING STAR TRACKS.
Another hero, gentleman and as far as I'm concerned, the best waterman today, Dave Kalama.

People don't come any better than Gerry

THE OLD AND THE NEW

My Great niece, Dakota Brown, Santa Monica Beach about 2007. Same beach where I first stood up on a wave in 1959.
This guy brought in a CC RIDER from the 1960's while I was visiting Dick.

Dick Metz hired me off the beach at the Outrigger Canoe Club in the late 60's to be manager of his Hobie Store in Honolulu. He's been a friend and mentor ever since. He founded the Surfing Heritage Foundation maybe 10 years ago in San Clemente, California. SHF is the mother load including one of DUKE'S boards from the 1930's. It's value estimated at a quarter million dollars. The board in this pic was given to him by the guys that used to steal beer from Dick (he owned a liquor store in Hunington Beach in the late 50's) while he was out surfing the H.B. Pier.

Barry Hann, SHF curator. Barry is up 5 mornings a week, without fail, surfing San O before work.

MARYLANDS EASTERN SHORE

Well, we were running out of firewood and it was cold on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This is our good friend Howard Kelly's previous work shop .. STEAMBOAT LANDING MARINA about 2007.
Looking kinda serious. Guess we all regretted having to cut up a fine guitar just because we were getting a little chilly. Inez, Howdy and Patty.

This is Howard and I holding the two peices together. The guitar still can be played this way.

This is a good example of a what a ships carpenter's shop should look like. Howard spent the last 3 years building a new one. From the photos he sent I'd guess maybe 4 or 5 times the size.

A LITTLE SURF SPOT CALLED STEPS

Do I give the impression I like the Tres Palmas area of Rincon?I want to thank Claudie for dragging me to Puerto Rico the 1st time. You get it all, 3 ft to 30 ft off the same beach. This last session of ankle busters I had on my 3oth and last day in PR was ..well.....I never had so much fun. photos: Patty C. Wilson

I had probably the absolute most fun time on this the last day in PR.

Rico's 1st time on Tres beach..or any beach for that matter. It's the 1st 24 hrs. of adoption.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
